Heliocol Whitsundays Pool Heat Pumps & Gas Heaters

Heat Pumps Gas Heaters

Heliocol Whitsundays can provide heat pumps and gas pool heaters to warm your pool.

Investing in a heat pump or gas heater means you’re going to extend your swimming time and warm your pool water for the colder months of the year.

Heat pumps can be used together with a solar heating system for maximum impact or on their own.

Gas heaters are good for more instant heating and are more suited to pools that don’t need the heating on a regular basis but prefer a “heat on demand” style of heating.

Heat pumps are a good alternative to a solar heating system.  Heat pumps extract heat from the air and use that heat to produce warm water.

Energy held in the surrounding air is absorbed into the refrigerant gas through the unit.

A heat exchange takes place when the heat is transferred to the water which is also circulated through the heat pump unit.

It takes a fraction of the energy to generate the same amount of heat as a gas or electric pump.  They do take longer to heat water, but they are economical and will keep the water warm just as effectively as a gas or electric pump.  heat pumps image

Electric heat pumps attract minimal running costs, are energy efficient and will give you the boost you’re looking for to warm your pool water throughout the year.

Heat pumps are environmentally friendly so you’re looking after the environment and at the same time providing a great environment of health, fitness and fun with your family.

The efficiency of heat pumps are based on the collector surface area of your pool, which is about half the surface of your pool area.

To get an idea of your collector surface area, you need to consider the following factors:

  • The pumps running time
  • Location of your pool
  • The solar energy potential when the pump is on
  • Shade areas
  • Wind resistance

Heat pumps do need to work harder in the winter months when this is the only means of heating for your pool.

However, in the Whitsundays, we rarely need to worry about this because we live in the tropics!

It allows you to heat your pool when you need it.  Gas heating systems run on natural gas or LPG.

They work by heating the pool water by drawing it into a heating unit and filter.

Gas pool heaters are reliable and easy to use. They will heat the pool water up to 40 degrees regardless of the weather.

It takes around 8 hours to heat a domestic pool which gives you flexibility and on demand capabilities.

Choosing the right gas heater will depend on:

  • The amount of water you want to heat
  • The time you expect to warm your pool water
  • The temperature you want your pool water to be

Gas heaters are installed next to your filtration system and are easy to install.

Heliocol Whitsundays are professionally trained to assess the right size gas heater to give you the best results.
